Adults think Venice is just meant for art lovers and hopeless romantics. But kids know better! Venice doesn’t need an amusement park… it is one big fantasy world. This is where every fairy tale comes to life, with attic prisons inside pink palaces, dragon bones hidden in church walls, glass-blowers breathing life into pocket-sized sea monsters.
Some of the stuff grown-ups love, such as gondola and vaporetto rides, taking time out on a beach, or a good gelato, appeal to kids too. Venice is safe and it is varied enough to keep even the most recalcitrant juniors interested. Ride the elevator to the top of the St. Mark’s bell tower to enjoy the Grand view, and be there as the huge bells whip into ear-shattering action at the top of each hour. Sail away to the islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello, visit the Museo di Storia Naturale (Natural History Museum) or enjoy a thrilling evening tour leading you to hidden and mysterious passages. A Venice adventure is a great foundation for a mountain of memories.
